Mrs. CleanHay Dwarf - High Quality Metal Hay Feeder for Rabbits
Say Hay to Mrs. CleanHay Dwarf👋
A high-quality, chew-proof and versatile freestanding hay feeder thoughtfully designed with smaller adult bunnies in mind.
Cleaner hay. Less waste. Happier bunnies.
Mrs. CleanHay Dwarf provides your bunny with easy access to fresh, clean hay while helping reduce the waste and mess commonly caused by traditional hay feeders.
Its smaller openings are designed for smaller adult rabbits, while its lower, half-size design provides versatile placement and integrates with a wide range of litter boxes.
Mrs. CleanHay Dwarf locks into the corner of compatible litter boxes for added stability and can be purchased individually or as a set of two.
A set of two Dwarf feeders provides approximately the same hay capacity as the Original feeder. Each feeder can also be filled with a different hay variety, making it easy to discover your bunny's preferences.
Did we mention it’s aesthetically pleasing too?
Why We Designed It
Mrs. CleanHay began because we wanted a better way to feed hay. We wanted something that keeps hay cleaner, minimizes waste, is easy to refill, simple to clean and hygienic enough to wash whenever needed.
We were also surprised that nothing like it really existed for house rabbits. Most of the options we found were either difficult to clean, easily chewed, messy, or simply weren't designed specifically for rabbits. Like many bunny parents, we often found ourselves trying to adapt products from the cat, dog or even dollar store aisles instead.
So we designed a hay feeder made specifically for rabbits. One that is chew-resistant, portable, easy to remove for cleaning, and designed to sit neatly beside most open-top litter boxes where rabbits naturally eat and use the bathroom.
Our goal was simple: make everyday rabbit care easier while keeping hay cleaner, reducing waste and creating a feeding solution that both bunnies and their people genuinely enjoy using. Mrs. CleanHay is the product we always wished existed for our own rabbits.
At Bunnease, we create products that don’t just work well, but also look beautiful in your home. Every Bunnease product is thoughtfully designed with function, quality and beautiful design in mind.

Mrs. CleanHay Dwarf Note
While the Dwarf is designed for smaller adult rabbits, some owners of larger rabbits choose it because they prefer the smaller hay openings, particularly for rabbits that like to dig or pull out large amounts of hay. We recommend selecting the appropriate size based on your rabbit’s size whenever possible. However, the Dwarf may also be a suitable option for larger rabbits that are particularly messy eaters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I'm unsure which size to order?
We're happy to help! Contact us with your bunny's age, current weight, breed, if known, and a clear photo, and we'll recommend the most appropriate feeder size.
Which feeder should I choose if my bonded bunnies are different sizes?
Choose the feeder based on the smallest bunny who will have access to it. For example, if one bunny weighs 5 lbs or less and another weighs over 5 lbs, choose the Dwarf feeder or provide separate, appropriately sized feeders.
How many feeders do you recommend?
- Dwarf: A set of two is recommended for one to two appropriately sized adult rabbits.
- Original: One feeder is generally recommended for two to three appropriately sized adult rabbits.
- Giant: Two to four feeders are generally recommended depending on the number of rabbits and their hay consumption.
These are general recommendations. You may provide additional hay sources depending on your rabbits' eating habits and how often you prefer to refill the feeder.
Can bonded bunnies share one feeder?
Yes. Appropriately sized bonded bunnies can share one feeder. However, the ideal number of feeders depends on your rabbits' size, hay consumption and feeding habits.
Providing multiple hay sources can help ensure both rabbits always have comfortable access.
Will it fit my litter box?
Mrs. CleanHay is designed to work with most open-top litter boxes, although compatibility depends on the litter box's wall height and shape.
- The Original accommodates litter-box walls up to approximately 10.5 in (26.67 cm).
- The Original locks in with litter boxes that have walls approximately 5.5 in (13.97 cm) or higher.
- The Dwarf and Giant lock in with litter boxes that have walls approximately 4 in (10.16 cm) or higher.
For the best fit and maximum stability, we recommend pairing it with our XL Low-Entry Litter Box .
What is the stability option?
The stand can be positioned in two ways depending on your litter box. For litter boxes with walls lower than 5.5 in (13.97 cm), use the first position for additional stability. For taller litter boxes, use the second position.
Does the feeder require assembly?
No tools are required. Simply slide the stand into the feeder and it is ready to use.
Do I need to refill the feeder every day?
We recommend topping it up with fresh hay daily and keeping the feeder full. Rabbits often eat more hay when it has been freshly replenished.
Push the remaining hay downward before refilling. Once full, gently pull a few strands through the front openings to help your bunny recognize where to access the hay.
Is it normal for the feeder to move or make noise?
Yes. Some movement is intentional and helps reduce unnecessary strain on the feeder.
If there is a gap between the feeder and the litter box, the contact points may make noise while your bunny eats. Adhesive bumper pads or soft cushions can be added to reduce the noise.
Why is my bunny digging at the feeder?
Digging often means the hay is running low or your bunny is searching for their favorite pieces. Push the remaining hay downward and refill the feeder to the top.
Why is my bunny pulling hay into the litter box?
This is completely normal rabbit behavior. Rabbits naturally sort through hay, eating their favorite strands and discarding others. Clean leftover hay can remain in the litter box as additional bedding.
My bunny has never used a hay feeder before. Is that okay?
Yes. Some rabbits need a little time to adjust to a new feeder. Continue offering loose hay while introducing Mrs. CleanHay and supervise your bunny's initial use.
Once your bunny is comfortable using the feeder, you can gradually transition or continue offering both hay sources.
Can I offer two different types of hay?
Yes. If you purchase a set of two Dwarf feeders, you can fill each feeder with a different hay variety to discover which your bunny prefers.
Isn’t it unnatural for rabbits to eat from a hay feeder?
Not at all. Rabbits naturally eat in many positions, including reaching up to eat taller grasses and plants. A properly designed, correctly sized hay feeder allows rabbits to comfortably pull and forage through hay while helping keep it cleaner and reducing waste.
