Follow along as we show you how to position your Mrs. CleanHay,
fill it with hay and set it up for your bunny.
First things first: the right size matters 🐰
Mrs. CleanHay is available in different sizes so rabbits can access
their hay comfortably and safely. Always select the feeder based on
the smallest bunny who will have access to it.
5 lbs & under

Recommended for smaller adult rabbits weighing
5 lbs (2.3 kg) and under.
6 lbs & over

Recommended for medium adult rabbits weighing
6 lbs (2.7 kg) and over.

over 9 lbs (4.1 kg).
Bonded bunnies of different sizes?
Choose the feeder based on the smallest bunny who will have access
to it. For example, if one bunny weighs 5 lbs or less and another
weighs over 5 lbs, choose the Dwarf feeder or provide separate,
appropriately sized feeders.
Mrs. CleanHay is designed for adult rabbits.
It is not intended for young or growing rabbits.

Most bunnies understand a hay feeder right away, but a few simple
steps can help make the transition extra easy.
🏡 Place it where they already eat hay
Position Mrs. CleanHay beside or behind your bunny's litter box,
where they naturally like to eat and use the bathroom.
🌾 Pull a little hay through
After filling the feeder, gently pull several strands through the
openings so your bunny can immediately see, smell and reach the hay.
🐰 Watch their first interactions
Supervise your bunny initially and make sure they are comfortably
pulling hay through the openings rather than attempting to climb
into, through or otherwise misuse the feeder.
🥬 Try something irresistible
If your bunny is hesitant, tuck a favourite type of hay or a few
bunny-safe leafy greens among the hay to encourage investigation.
🌱 Keep hay available
Rabbits should always have access to plenty of fresh hay. Refill
Mrs. CleanHay as needed so your bunny never runs out.

How to set up Mrs. CleanHay

Position the feeder stand
Place the feeder stand underneath your bunny's litter box.
Push it all the way underneath so the litter box helps secure
and stabilize the feeder.

Position the feeder
Place Mrs. CleanHay beside or behind the litter box so your bunny
can comfortably reach the hay openings while sitting naturally
inside the box.

Fill with fresh hay
Fill the feeder generously with your bunny's usual fresh hay.
If your feeder has multiple compartments, you can fill each with
a different hay variety if desired.

Pull a few strands through
Gently pull several pieces of hay through the front openings.
This makes the hay easy to notice and helps show your bunny
exactly where to access it.

Supervise the first use
Watch your bunny initially to make sure the feeder is an
appropriate fit and that they are using it comfortably and
as intended.
Tip: Mrs. CleanHay works best when the litter box
is positioned firmly over the feeder stand. Make sure the setup feels
stable before allowing your bunny to use it.
Getting the best litter-box fit
Mrs. CleanHay is designed to work with most open-top litter boxes,
although compatibility can vary depending on the wall height,
shape and overall design of the litter box.

The Dwarf and Giant feeders can lock in with compatible litter
boxes that have walls approximately 4 in (10.16 cm) or higher.
🐇 Original
The Original can accommodate litter-box walls up to approximately
10.5 in (26.67 cm) and locks in with compatible walls approximately
5.5 in (13.97 cm) or higher.

The ideal number depends on your bunnies' size, hay consumption,
feeding habits and how frequently you prefer to refill.

Dwarf: A set of two is generally recommended
for one to two appropriately sized adult rabbits.

Original: One feeder is generally suitable for
two to three appropriately sized adult rabbits.

Giant: Two to four feeders may be suitable
depending on the number of rabbits and their hay consumption.
These are general recommendations only. You can always provide
additional hay sources depending on your rabbits' individual eating
habits and how often you prefer to refill.

🌿 A few ways to use it

Everyday hay: Fill the feeder with your bunny's
usual grass hay and refill whenever needed.

Hay tasting: Offer two different hay varieties
in separate compartments or feeders and see which one disappears first.

Encourage hay eating: Mix a small amount of a
favourite hay variety or bunny-safe dried herbs throughout their
regular hay.

Greens feeder: Mrs. CleanHay can also hold
suitable leafy greens for an alternative feeding setup.
Cleaning and care
Mrs. CleanHay is designed to be easy to remove, refill and wash
whenever needed.

Remove all remaining hay and loose debris before cleaning.

Wash the feeder using warm water and mild dish soap.

Use a soft sponge or cloth when needed.

Avoid abrasive cleaning products, harsh chemicals or abrasive
scrubbers that could damage the powder-coated finish.

Rinse thoroughly after washing.

Dry completely before refilling with fresh hay.

Regularly wipe or clean the feeder stand and the surrounding
litter-box area as part of your bunny's normal cleaning routine.

Correct sizing and initial supervision are important when introducing

openings. Do not allow climbing into, through or otherwise
inappropriate use of the feeder.

openings, discontinue use immediately and switch to a more
appropriate feeder size.

Regularly inspect the feeder and stand for signs of damage,
loosening or excessive wear.

Discontinue use if the feeder becomes damaged.
